Hello Kids!

Grammar time!


Today we are going to review the verb can.

We use it to express ability.


For example:
I can play the guitar.
They can play the piano.
She can play the violin.






Grammar rules:

  • You need to add the infinitive after "can".   
SUBJECT + CAN + VERB INFINITIVE 
I can run fast.
You can swim.
She can ride a bike.
We can jump.
They can play the drums

  • Negative sentences. You can add "n´t" or not.
He can´t play the recorder.
You cannot play the flute

  • Questions. You use "can" at the beginning of a question.
CAN + SUBJECT + INFINITIVE?
Can you read a book? 
Can you drive a car?
